Authenticity of character

Authenticity is about being genuine, being accurate in representation and being supported by the evidence. And 1 John is clear on what evidence is expected from people who claim to be God’s children: our actions should match our words. So are you really who you say you are? Or are you a big pretender? We all hide parts of our true selves to some extent, to save face, to fit in, to hide our vulnerability. But do we do this as children of God? Do we say we love God but act like we love the world?
